“Halabja” a fourth province in the Kurdistan region

    The Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq announced converting Halabja to a province after guiding a letter from the presidency of the provincial government to convert Halabja to the province, as soon as possibe "in response to the demands of the people of the region."

This came in a press conference held today in Hawler, in which Nechirvan Barzani, head of the provincial government, said that he had signed a decree on converting  Halabja to a fourth province in the region.

After that decision , the city of Halabja, which had a  horrific massacre, in which the victims claimed more than 5000 Kurdish, as a result of the bombing of the former Iraqi regime by chemical weapons in March 16, in the last century, the city witnessed after the decision an atmosphere of joy and the people danced in the streets of the city.
